The skills and commitment of our volunteers are critical to the success of the Village Hall and its ability to serve the needs of our local community.  Our volunteers give their time and energy free because they believe that the Village Hall is a valuable asset that should be used to the maximum extent possible by the widest range of people in our community.  If you feel similarly then we hope that you will consider joining us.

Opportunities for Volunteering

Like most village halls we know that it will always be difficult to find enough people able to contribute their skills, but that will not stop us trying.  There are many ways to contribute.  You might be retired and feel that you have time to apply your lifetime of experience and expertise.  You might be working, with not much time, but able to commit to an hour or two a month.  You might be at school or college and looking for an activity that could give you valuable experience of working with others.

No matter what your circumstances, we are up for the challenge of finding a way of using what time, energy and skills you are prepared to give us. Currently we would particularly welcome anyone with a background in graphic design and experience of photoshop or equivalent to help with our publicity.

Our volunteers are either members of the Trustee Board or work within one or more of our functional teams, or both, depending on their personal interests, experience and skills.  Some of our volunteers are:

Our Teams

Booking Team. The team take calls on the Village Hall booking number and provides advice on what our Village Hall offers and its availability.

Customer Management Team. The team is responsible for working with every customer to ensure they receive excellent service.

Digital Infrastructure. The team is responsible for developing and managing all digital tools used to support the day to day running of the Village Hall; e.g. the website, Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram.

Event Management. The team is responsible for identifying and managing all fund raising events for the Village Hall.

Facilities Management. The team is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Village Hall building.

Marketing. The team is responsible for the Village Hall brand and all publicity for the Village Hall and its events.

New Business. The team is responsible for bringing new bookings to the Village Hall from individuals, businesses and organisations.

Partner Management. The team is responsible for setting up partnerships with businesses to offer goods and services to the customers of the Village Hall.
